After the creation of stock solutions, we were able to use such solutions to batch crystallize Lysozyme for crystallation. More formulas that we have used in the class but are now applying allowed us to get the basic concentrations. Use of automatic pippetters was a bit challenging and we had three trys to get it right. We learned from our mistakes much like our students would. Went to the Biodesign Institute for a tour on the truly interdisciplinary research that is occuring there. Asked about prion research which they may be performing there- interested in personally finding out more.
